Seared Ahi Tuna
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1 – 8 oz. Ahi Tuna steak
2 Tbsp – Herb rub (rosemary, thyme, sage)
Butter – as needed
Hot mustard
2 cup – Mixed greens
2 oz. – Cilantro lime vinaigrette dressing (we make ours fresh in house but you can use your favorite store bought version)
¼ cup – Jicama, julienned
¼ cup – Tomatoes, diced
¼ cup – Spiced pecans
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed greens, jicama, tomatoes and spiced pecans. Stir together until well coated. Season the tuna steak by rolling in the herb rub. Place a skillet over medium-high heat and coat with the butter until melted. Lay the tuna in the hot butter and sear for 30 seconds on all sides to form a slight crust. Remove from pan and cut into slices and fan out on a plate. Add the salad and a squirt of spicy mustard for dipping.
